MaxRewards vs MaxWorth

Should I use MaxRewards or MaxWorth?

Card terms last verified against issuer pages on 2026-09-20.

The short answer

The feature lists overlap heavily — both do best-card-by-category, offer activation, nearby merchant maps, benefit tracking and welcome bonus progress. There is one structural difference and it decides the comparison: MaxRewards requires and stores your bank login, which makes its credit tracking automatic and gives it far broader issuer coverage for offers. MaxWorth never asks for credentials, so its tracking is manual, and it activates offers at Amex and Chase where MaxRewards reaches many more issuers. MaxWorth covers Canada and Australia; MaxRewards is US-only.

The one difference that matters

MaxRewards signs in to your accounts and reads your statements. That is how it knows your dining credit posted. MaxWorth has no account-connection feature at all, so it knows your benefit terms exactly — cycle, cap, reset date — but depends on you to say when a credit was used.

Precise on the rules, dependent on you for the usage. Whether that is a fair trade depends on a question only you can answer: will you actually mark them?

Where MaxRewards is clearly better

Offer activation reach. MaxRewards names Amex, Chase, Capital One, Bank of America, Citi, Wells Fargo, U.S. Bank, Discover and Barclays among its issuers. MaxWorth reaches Amex and Chase. If your wallet is spread across issuers, check yours against both lists.

Automatic tracking, as above.

Credit score monitoring, spend analysis and transaction categorisation, none of which MaxWorth has.

Android. MaxRewards has an app; MaxWorth does not.

Where MaxWorth is clearly better

No credentials anywhere in the product, so there is nothing of yours to be exposed. That is a narrower promise than "we take security seriously", and it does not depend on us being good at anything.

Canada and Australia. MaxRewards is US-only.

English and Chinese.

Price shape. $159 once against $108 every year, with monthly billing available on our side and annual-only on theirs. Past roughly eighteen months the arithmetic separates sharply.

Subscription tracking.

Questions people actually ask

Should I use MaxRewards or MaxWorth?

The feature lists overlap heavily — both do best-card-by-category, offer activation, nearby merchant maps, benefit tracking and welcome bonus progress. There is one structural difference and it decides the comparison: MaxRewards requires and stores your bank login, which makes its credit tracking automatic and gives it far broader issuer coverage for offers. MaxWorth never asks for credentials, so its tracking is manual, and it activates offers at Amex and Chase where MaxRewards reaches many more issuers. MaxWorth covers Canada and Australia; MaxRewards is US-only.

Is MaxRewards or MaxWorth cheaper?

MaxRewards: Gold starts at $108/yr on a sliding scale, with a 7-day trial. Annual billing only — monthly was discontinued — so trying it means committing to a year. A Platinum tier with business expense tools exists; we could not confirm its current price from a primary source. No lifetime option. MaxWorth: Rarely discounted — the list price is what you actually pay.

Does MaxRewards or MaxWorth require a bank login?

MaxRewards — Required, stored, and there is no opt-out. Notably, MaxRewards does not use Plaid or MX — its help centre says it built "our own connector technology" precisely because aggregators cannot reach reward balances and credit scores. Credentials are encrypted under two separate keys held in databases at two different cloud providers, with the app reaching them only through a validating middleware layer. That is a serious design. It is still a working copy of your bank login, held by someone other than you. MaxWorth — Never requested. There is no account-connection feature in the product at all.
