What it earns
Rates are the multipliers American Express advertises. We do not convert them into a percentage return, because that requires putting a price on Membership Rewards Points and that price is a judgement, not a fact — see how we source this.
| Category | Rate | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Hotel (AmexTravel) | 5x | |
| Airlines | 5x | |
| Other | 1x | Everything else |
Statement credits
$2,894 a year across 11 credits against a $895 annual fee. The columns that matter are the cap and the reset date: a credit paid monthly cannot be saved up, and one that resets on the calendar year expires on 31 December no matter when you opened the card.
Other perks
Benefits that are not dollar statement credits — certificates, lounge visits, point bonuses. Where a value appears it is an estimate, not an amount the issuer credits you, and it is excluded from the credits total above.
| Perk | How often | Estimated value |
|---|---|---|
| Delta Sky Club AccessGet 10 complimentary Delta Sky Club visits per calendar year when you access the Club on a Delta-operated flight. Visits reset each January 1. Guest access may be available for an additional fee. | Once a year | ~$390 |
